If you are tired of the crappy sounds coming from that speaker in your home and wish to plunge yourself into a great and revealing sound experience, the Klipsch RP-280F is your best bet. Wondering why I said that? Continue reading this Klipsch RP-280F review and you would learn from my experience and understand why I crowned it the best speaker you would probably find on the market today.
The Premium Design
A thing I know the Klipsch for is that they come up with greater and better ideas as their product evolves. The RP-280F is one of their greatest achievements so far, with improved, modified, and updated features compared to the former Klipsch’s Reference MK2 models.
The first thing I loved about the product is its appearance and the atheistic quality it gave to my large apartment. This speaker can’t be unnoticed thanks to its elegant copper cerametalic woofers and ebony or cherry wood paneling that sure compliment the look and feel of a home. The vinyl finish wood is pleasant both to the eye and the touch, and I can’t help but steal glances at it ever since I purchased it.
RP-280F speaker cabinet is flared opened due to its horn-like shape to guide the sound waves to your listening area and from spilling off unnecessarily into unwanted directions. The horn is shaped like a circular throat about an evolved titanium diaphragm tweeter and extended into a squared shaped 90ᵒ x 90ᵒ mouth. The horn itself is made from a molded silicon rubber to achieve a great decrease in resonance for a better, smoother and cooler high.
RP-280F woofers are made of well-treated aluminum to dampen and prevent distortion of sounds and a recent and developed titanium voice coil that allows a better linear movement. this woofers are quite strong but lightweight. There is also a refined crossover and a flexible but strong, removable grille that can attach itself magnetically to the unit thereby eliminating the need for any mounting hole.
Ever seen a horn that improves bass? Check the back of the speaker, and you will see what I mean. Klipsch replaced the conventional round tube that you will find on many speakers with a Tractrix horn-shaped opening. This opening allows more efficient and smoother flow of air inside and outside the speaker cabinet which results in lower air turbulence, low-frequency distortion, and reduced noise while creating a cleaner and more powerful bass.
The Excellent Performance
Are you looking for a speaker with an impressive sound quality that’ll blow the door off your expectations? If yes, look no further than the Klipsch RP–280F. I’ll give it up to Klipsch for this amazing product that creates a distinct and effective sound that subdues those from other woofers of its time.
When I got the speakers home the sound that emitted from it left me amazed and gave me goosebumps from sheer excitement and pleasure. With each music and record I played, the speaker kept blasting a clear, cool and smooth sound with the appropriate amount of energy and at striking bass level.
This floor-standing speaker is quite big; it fits perfectly and fills even the largest rooms with a high-quality sound that only Klipsch equipment can guarantee. If you want to fill your home with the big sound, this is a detailed rendition of great sounds; I just couldn’t detect the slightest distortion even at high speaker volume.
