Law enforcement sources have revealed that Joni Sledge, the Sister Sledge star, died because of a pre-existing condition. On Friday, 10th March, the disco queen was discovered dead in her home and foul play has been ruled out by the local experts. They have asserted that the singer died of natural causes. Her publicist is insisting that Joni was not sick or ill before her death and for now, it remains unclear as to what led to her demise. It was reported by the outlet that an autopsy was rendered unnecessary as her doctor had stated that natural causes were the reason behind her death.
In the meanwhile, Kim and Debbie have assured the fans that they will honor all the commitments the group had made in 2017 as a way of paying tribute to their sister. The 60-year-old star had enjoyed disco song hits such as The Greatest Dancer and We Are Family. The Sledge sisters issued a special statement for fans in which they extended their gratitude to those who were sending out their love and support during this challenging and difficult time of mourning.
They also discussed their sister and said that Joni was an excellent producer and artist, as well as a beautiful person. They also appreciated her business sense and called her a powerhouse. Debbie and Kim said that Joni loved performing life and therefore, they would honor her by keeping the commitments they had made. It was further stated that every single concert performed by the Sledge sisters this year would be dedicated to Joni as they were sisters and family to each other so they would continue their tradition. Kathy, Debbie, Kim and Joni Sledge had formed the group Sister Sledge in 1971. In 1989, Kathy decided to pursue a solo career and left the group.
